Exam Proctoring Policy

Examination Rules & Requirements

Our exam proctoring policy helps maintain examination integrity, protect fairness, and provide a secure and consistent testing experience for every candidate.

Candidates are responsible for reviewing and understanding the examination requirements and applicable rules before beginning their examination. The following policy outlines the general requirements and procedures applicable to ExamIT proctored exams. Specific certification or examination programs may have additional requirements.

ExamIT Proctoring Policy

01

Purpose of Exam Proctoring

ExamIT uses exam proctoring to maintain exam integrity, ensure a fair testing environment, and verify that candidates follow the applicable examination rules.

02

Candidate Identity Verification

Candidates must provide a valid government-issued photo ID or other identification document approved for the examination. The name on the identification should match the candidate's registration details.

03

Exam Scheduling

Exams are scheduled based on proctor availability. Candidates must select an available examination date and time and complete any applicable payment before the appointment is confirmed.

04

Saturday Exam Scheduling

Saturday examination appointments may be available for an additional fee. The applicable fee must be paid in advance and is non-refundable if the candidate does not attend the scheduled appointment.

05

Technical Requirements

Candidates are responsible for having a suitable computer, reliable internet connection, working webcam, microphone, and supported browser or examination software.

06

System Check

Candidates should complete any required system or equipment checks before the scheduled examination. Technical issues should be resolved before the exam begins.

07

Testing Environment

Candidates must take the examination in a quiet, private, and well-lit location. The testing area should be free from unauthorized materials and other individuals.

08

Webcam and Microphone

Candidates may be required to keep their webcam and microphone enabled during the examination so that the proctor can monitor the testing session.

09

Room and Workspace Verification

Before starting the examination, the proctor may ask the candidate to show the testing environment, desk/workspace, and surrounding area to confirm that prohibited materials are not present.

10

Prohibited Materials and Devices

Candidates must not use unauthorized books, notes, mobile phones, smart watches, additional computers, communication devices, or other materials during the examination unless specifically permitted for that exam.

11

No Unauthorized Assistance

Candidates must complete the examination independently. Receiving assistance from another person or communicating with others during the exam is prohibited unless explicitly permitted by the examination rules.

12

Candidate Conduct

Candidates are expected to behave professionally and follow all instructions provided by the proctor throughout the examination.

13

Proctor Instructions

Candidates must follow reasonable instructions from the assigned proctor relating to identity verification, workspace checks, technical requirements, and examination procedures.

14

Recording and Monitoring

Where applicable, the examination session may be monitored or recorded for security, quality assurance, examination integrity, and investigation of suspected policy violations, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

15

Privacy and Personal Information

Candidate information collected during registration, identity verification, and proctoring will be handled according to ExamIT's applicable privacy practices and legal requirements.

16

Technical Problems During the Exam

If a technical problem occurs, the candidate should immediately notify the proctor and follow the instructions provided. The proctor or examination administrator will determine the appropriate next steps.

17

Late Arrival

Candidates should join the examination session before the scheduled start time to allow sufficient time for identity and system verification. Late arrival may result in the examination being delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled according to the applicable exam rules.

18

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Candidates who need to cancel or reschedule an examination should contact ExamIT within the applicable notice period. Any applicable fees or restrictions will depend on the examination and scheduling terms.

19

No-Show Policy

Failure to attend a scheduled examination without an approved cancellation or rescheduling may result in the loss of applicable examination or proctoring fees.

20

Suspension or Termination of an Exam

ExamIT or the authorized proctor may pause or terminate an examination if there is a significant technical issue, suspected examination misconduct, unauthorized assistance, or violation of examination rules.

21

Suspected Examination Misconduct

Suspected violations may be documented and reviewed. Depending on the examination program, consequences may include termination of the examination, invalidation of results, or other actions permitted by the applicable certification or examination provider.

22

Exam Results

Examination results are handled according to the policies and procedures of the applicable certification or examination program. Proctoring does not guarantee a passing result.

23

Candidate Responsibilities

Candidates are responsible for reviewing the examination requirements, preparing their equipment and testing environment, arriving on time, and following all applicable examination rules.

24

Policy Updates

ExamIT may update this policy when examination procedures, technology, security requirements, or applicable regulations change. Candidates should review the current policy before their examination.
